Internationally competitive, these fellowships were founded in memory of the trailblazer they were named after. Fellows in these programs receive competitive, professional development opportunities and are recognized worldwide as they work to better the space industry.
Brooke Owens Fellowship [Main] [Application]
The Brooke Owens Fellowship is an award-winning program dedicated to advancing women and gender minorities in the space industry. More than 250+ undergraduate fellows have received competitively paid summer internships and professional mentorship by space industry leaders (including astronauts). Applications open annually during fall semesters.
Patti Grace Smith Fellowship [Main] [Application]
An official sister program of the Brooke Owens Fellowship, the Patti Grace Smith Fellowship is ending racially-motivated systemic barriers in the aerospace industry. More than 80+ fellows pursuing their associate or bachelor's degree have received competitively paid summer internships, professional mentorship by space industry leaders, and a cash grant for professional or school expenses. Applications open annually during fall semesters.
Zed Factor Fellowship [Main] [Application]
The only non-memorial fellowship, the Zed Factor Fellowship is designed for applicants from Minority Serving Institutions to achieve their wildest dreams in the aerospace industry. More than 40+ undergraduate and graduate fellows receive competitively paid summer internships, professional mentorship by space industry leaders, and support to give back to their communities in the form of mentorship, a high school program, or a project of their choosing. Applications open annually during fall semesters.

π Commercial: National Space Intern
Space Workforce 2030 is a growing coalition of companies nationwide to build a space workforce that is inclusive and meet national needs. In partnership with the prestigious fellowships outlined above, the National Space Intern program pairs collegiate talent with participating companies for rolling internship positions. The 2024 cycle is currently closed.
