🌖 New Mexico Space Grant

The New Mexico Space Grant, also known as the New Mexico Space Grant Consortium, is a statewide collaborative to develop sustainable exploration programs for NASA missions. Partnership between academia, industry, and government allow students the unique opportunity to engage in local, commercial, and international space work.


Research Funding

Paid research opportunities are available to undergraduates, graduates, and postdoctoral students whose work aligns with the NASA Mission Directorates. The next application cycle will open in January 2024, while the postdoctoral fellowship is available year-round. Please note: U.S. citizenship and a cumulative 3.0 GPA is required.


Grants & Scholarships

The Student Travel Grant is a one-time award for students to attend professional meetings or conferences and present their space-related research. Applications are open year-round. Please note: U.S. citizenship and a cumulative 3.0 GPA is required.

Additional scholarship opportunities include the Community College Scholarship and help with NASA internships.

The Education Enhancement Grant helps researchers and educators create courses aligned with the NASA Mission Directorates. Scholarships are also available for education majors and New Mexico public school graduate teachers. Funding is available to any club, museum, and community organization whose work aligns with the New Mexico Space Grants’ goals through the Public Service and Informal Education Grant.


Student Competitions

The student competition or challenge is available on a rolling basis. Participating in these opportunities is a great way to test your skills and create professional connections.
